Although I don't think English is the native language of this message
writer, I believe you can get the gist of it. Might be something for high
school teachers who wish to take students to Europe over the summer. I
didn't attach the brochure. If anyone is interested, e-mail me at
mailto:DesertSky at Cyberspaces.net I will be happy to send it. Susan

Another list I read has been "enjoying" a discussion of governors and =
their
expressed opinions on education and teachers. It reminded me, don't ask
how I could have forgotten, that we are truly dedicated people.

We do our jobs with little appreciation from the media and most of the
public. Often we do it without appreciation from our government, state
educators, and our own district administrators.

Therefore, it occured to me that today I should tell you all that I think
you are wonderful! I know what the trenches are like - I'm in them, too.
I hear personal stories from many of you, privately, and know some of you
IRL. I know the kind of dedicated professionals you are, or are making an
effort to become.

So, thank you for all the students you are helping. Thank you for all the
students you are trying to help. Thank you for doing the best possible =
job
to educate the next generation to be something more than they believe they
can be.

Thank you for all the extra hours you spend, without pay, to improve your
skills, to plan lessons, to read books, and to maintain the learning
process in your own life. Thank you for all the dollars you spend out of
your own pockets to provide things your students *must* have and things
they *should* have and things you *want* them to have.

Thank you for the books you share with them to fire their imaginations.
Thank you for the hours you spending coming up with yet *another* way to
teach an idea to that little child at the back of the row who just doesn't
"get it."

Thank you for being excellent teachers and caring, giving human beings.

Susan Nixon
